A guest blogger named Anne-Marie (-:

Hallo allemaal!

Today there is a guest blogger who's name is also Anne-Marie (-: Do you want to be a guest blogger on this blog? Then please send me an email.

Hi, everyone! I am Anne-Marie, and live in Rotterdam, Netherlands. I love to crochet, and when I am not working on a blankie or amigurumi, I also like to sew, knit and paint in the summer.
I started with crochet about 2 years ago, and now I am completely addicted. When I moved to Rotterdam 3 years ago, I actually started with sewing by taking a couple of courses at the Naaicafe. I love to make my own clothing, buy lots of fabric and fantasize about new projects. In the beginning, crochet was a nice variation to all the sewing projects I had. But soon, crochet was taking over the sewing work!

I started with a couple of books, to get the basics and have some ideas for beginners projects. Now I spend (too) much time on Ravelry, looking at all the beautiful projects Ravellers are working on. Some nice sites:

I recently started with a hexagon blankie with lots of colours. It´s not that big yet, but already gives a nice idea of how the end result will become.

Finished and work in progress projects are regularly posted on my blog: www.kookiez.weebly.com You can find me on Twitter via Anne__Marie_B. See you soon!

Apples

Yesterday I was making something totally different when I decided that I could turn them into coasters as well. I'd seen them before and thy make me so happy! At that time I couldn't crochet, so to make them now without a pattern is super-exciting (-: Have a great Sunday!
p.s. I wrote down the pattern, it is here.

Zpagetti

It has been a long time since I've made something with Hoooked Zpagetti. If you're relatively new to my blog, check this group on Flickr where you can find al lot of examples of things that are made with Zpagetti. The Strawberry Bag on the picture above is amongst others made of Zpagetti as well.
Zpagetti is actually t-shirt yarn. It is made from recycled material like clothing.

Wooops!

Unfortunately today something went wrong with the Link Your Stuff-post, as a result of which all pictures that were added became invisible. Therefore I've removed the entire post, so if you are wondering where it is... Today I've been working on a new garland. All of a sudden I thought that a white centre for the Ornament Garland could be pretty nice. And on the picture below you can see how that looks. Down here you can see the normal version.
I wish everyone a really nice week! I'll think about what to do with Link Your Stuff next week. Maybe I'll try the text-link version, or maybe I think of something totally new. You'll see!

Fun Things To Do!

Oh boy, I got all excited when I received the press release of the Museum of Bags and Purses in my mailbox. On the 14th of February an exposition will start there, named "Hoezo Tuttig?" (which means as much as "What do you mean, oldfashioned?") and what's to do during that exposition... you don't wanna miss out! At all events, mark the 16th of February from 14.00-16.00hrs in your diary, because there will be a free guided knitting cafe where you can knit an Iphone-cover. The materials are already there so you don't have to bring any. During the entire period of the exposition there are a lot of other things to do there as well, like felting and crochet. The exposition shows old bags and new design, made with the same techniques. The bags that go with this post are examples of what's there to find. Isn't that promising? Do you want to know all about it? Click here to go to the website of the Museum of Bags and Purses in Amsterdam. The exposition is untill the 11th of September 2011. Need advice on where to stay in Holland? Just leave a message here and I'll give you some advice if necessary (-:

A bowl of hearts

Last week I had a lot of orders. Well... not a lot, but so many that I had to crochet every night untill it was way past bedtime. So this yesterday I decide to make it a Crochet-Day. I've made hearts all day. This bowl looked so happy on my table that I just had to share it with you. Have a nice Sunday!

Custom order

A couple of days ago somebody asked me if I could make a garland with other colours then I had in my shop already. I received an email with a colour combination of which I wasn't certain if it would match, but now that it's finished I think it's a really happy garland! Today I'll ship the package, I hope the buyer will be happy with it. Tonight I'll start with another colour combination on request. I'm really curious how that will turn out!
